Gold Wing Riders Association, Inc.
Northeast Region B, Chapter Y

GWRRA is about FUN ... and Chapter Y knows how to do that!!!
PA Chapter Y is officially know as the Liberty Wings. Our chapter patch was designed
to highlight the Liberty Bell, which is housed in Philadelphia. Unofficially known
as The Y’s GUY’S, our members proudly wear purple shirts that display our nickname.
Needless to say, we stand out in a crowd and draw smiles.
We are also known as The Chapter That Rides! We have an extensive Ride Schedule that officially runs from April through October. Our ride schedules includes all day and overnight rides, midweek lunch runs, picnic rides, and ice cream rides. In addition, we have a traditional January 1st, New Years Day lunch ride and find roads to ride whenever Mother Nature gives us a good day during the other months.
Our chapter enjoys visiting other chapters and have often traveled long distances
chasing the Traveling Plaque and waving our Plaque Attack Flag high. We also support
our neighboring states by visiting chapters charity events. The Ys Guys are avid
participants in the yearly Pennsylvania Rally at which we have won our share of awards.
Many of our members are long distance riders and travel to Honda Hoot, Wing Ding,
Americade, and Daytona Bike Week.
The Gold Wing Road Rides Association charted “Chapter Y” in 1997 with five members.
In the past 11 years, we have grown to a chapter membership of 87! We have been able
to bring about this change with the strength in leadership provided by Past and Present
Chapter Directors and Assistant Directors, whose efforts are supported by our members
working hard together to make our chapter what it is today.
Chapter Y also is very serious about Safety and Knowledge. So, the Rider Educator plays an important role. All meetings feature information from our Rider Educator and from our Motorist Awareness Division coordinators. Chapter Y has sponsored seminars and educational programs on the following topics. Chapter Y remembers those less fortunate and makes special efforts to support various charities throughout the year by donating time and money to various charities during the year. Sponsored events include Meals with a Purpose, BJ’s Ride for the Cure, Fox Chase Cancer Center Tulli Ride, Susan G Komen Walk for the Cure, The American Diabetes Tour de Cure, Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, and our local charity, Indian Creek Foundation.
Remember:
“It Doesn’t Matter What You Ride As Long As You Ride.”
